City Front Center
A splendid river walk that runs east of the Michigan Avenue Bridge (400 N. Michigan Avenue) all the way to the lake.
Burnham Park
Includes Soldier Field, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Field Museum grounds.
Grant Park
Just east of Michigan Avenue and west of Lake Shore Drive between Randolph and Roosevelt, this park hosts great festivals, concerts and the world-famous Buckingham Fountain. Look for light shows throughout the summer beginning at 9 p.m.
Millenium Park
Chicago's newest park, between Michigan Avenue and Columbus Drive along Lake Michigan, features the Chicago “Bean,” and “Crown Fountain,” two 50 foot glass block towers at each end of a shallow reflecting pool which ‘spits out’ water. You can also find gardens, sculptures, and an outdoor music pavilion. For your strolling and picnicking pleasure, there are gorgeous green spaces and walkways open east of Michigan Avenue and north of Monroe Street.
Lake Shore Park
A sweet little park near Water Tower Place, east of Fairbanks, between Pearson and Chicago.
Lincoln Park
East of Clark Street from North Avenue all the way to Diversey Parkway (includes Lincoln Park Zoo).
Eli Shulman Park
A clean, enclosed, very “kid-friendly” park, just south of Water Tower on Pearson, a half-block east of Michigan.
