Statue of Liberty

One of the most recognized symbols in America, the Statue of Liberty, standing at 305 feet is a must see when traveling to New York.  When visiting the statue, you can tour the grounds, and outdoor exhibits, then stay for the 45 minute tour.  The tour is free and explains the conception, construction, and restoration of the statue.  Getting to the Island is really easy as well, and children will enjoy the ferry ride.  There are two ways to get there:  you can either board the ferry at Battery Park in New York City or at the Central Railroad Terminal located at the north end of Liberty State Park in New Jersey. Fare includes ferry trip  and access to both the Statue of Liberty Park and Ellis Island. Liberty Island is open from 9:30am until 5pm every day except Christmas. The ferry ticket office closes prior to park's closing. Due to the park's security procedures please allow for ample time in your visitation plans. Adult Ticket: $11.50, Senior (62 and over): $9.50, Child (3-12): $4.50, Under 3: Free.

Empire State Building

Looking for some of the best view’s in the city?  This is the place to go!  Standing at 1,453 feet the Empire state Building offers incredible views of New York.  Advance tickets are recommended.  There “New York Skyride,” provides a virtual tour through and under New York. Call for price information as well as expected wait time.

New York Water Taxi

The New York Water Taxi, offers great ways to maneuver and tour the city.  Six yellow catamarans, each with a capacity for 74 passengers, stop at  Hunter's Point, E 34th Street, Red Hook, Brooklyn's Fulton Ferry Landing, South Street Seaport, Wall Street (Pier 11), Battery Park (Pier A), the World Financial Center (North Cove), Pier 45 (Greenwich Village), Chelsea Piers, and W 44th Street (Pier 84).  Weather permitting take in the view on the upper deck.

Carnegie Hall presents a family concert series every weekend throughout the summer.  This is a phenomenal opportunity for kids to experience a friendly, fun concert. There are even special toddler events. Children will receive an interactive tool to enhance participation. Tours are also available. Hayden Planterium

Gaze up at the stars, and enjoy a must see high-tech visual experience!  The Hayden Planetarium offers three types of experiences:

  • Visit the top half of the sphere, for a one of kind high tech star show
  • Visit the bottom half of the sphere where the “Big Bang” exhibit takes you back to the time when the universe began in a dramatic, sensory filled recreation.
There is also a theater show on the Planetarium proper, where you can participate in a voyage through space and time.
